Max Motors in Butler, Missouri is trying to drum up business in this down economy by giving away an AK-47 assault rifle with every new vehicle purchase. Last year the dealership gave away handguns.

Max Motors is actually giving away a voucher to purchase the AK-47 assault rifle. A customer would have to go through the regular round of background checks to be able to purchase the weapon.

“It’s all about shamelessly promoting the dealership. We’re just trying to sell cars. You gotta stand out. We’re a little country dealer,” said Muller.

“We love race cars, pickup trucks and shotguns,” Muller said. “This nonsense about we have to change the way we build cars. Why? General Motors is the number
one car manufacturer in the world.”

The car dealer AK-47 giveaway was not without its drawbacks; Muller who is a staunch “buy American” guy had reservations about giving away a foreign made rifle. That wasn’t a problem after a local gun dealer called Muller and told him about their American made AK-47.
